@redstarfish@freesoftwareextremist.com @sicp@freesoftwareextremist.com @Pi_rat@freesoftwareextremist.com @jrballesteros05@social.linux.pizza @xmpp@fosstodon.org I use Gajim and its not unusable, but I wouldn't consider it good. Especially since their recent change of breaking tab completion and requiring me to use @ to get nickname completion, but then also always adding a : regardless of where in a sentence its used. Its a definite downgrade from the nickname tab-completion which worked fine for years.
Scrolling through big chats is also very glitchy and keeps resetting position, while eventually not showing logs of more than 24 hours ago. Finding messages which highlight me also doesn't seem to have a dedicated button or hotkey, so manual scrolling and hoping I notice the highlighted line is what I get, and combined with the glitchiness it is not a great experience.
Compared to what I used for IRC (WeeChat), it is nowhere near as polished. and it shows every day.
