     @rez I deeply regret even being involved with some conversations. I have nearly zero appetite for having my beliefs challenged and even less appetite for defending them. I'd rather not be online than engage in internet debates. (Exception: free software, nothing else reaches the bar of "worth my emotional energy")

     @prettygood I have also reached that point of, “I am too old to waste my energy on someone that has already made up their mind.” I absolutely feel you. If someone wants to have an actual discussion with the intent of learning more, sweet, let’s roll. But forcing me to take the back foot? Nah, I’m out.

     @rez I don't even reach that level. I'm not interested in trying to educate someone. I can't compete with infographics and tiktok influencers and snappy text on a PNG in that person's mind so why bother. Nobody wants to learn more from someone that isn't trying to sell them something so they deserve to be wrong forever.

     @prettygood You have again managed to distill what I have thought for a long time into a single message. Yes. It is my steadfast belief that the truth you need to hear most doesn’t run flashing neon signs. It’s quiet. So quiet you wonder if it is there at all.
     But too many people don’t want that. Kind of sad, really. Well, to me, anyway.
