     @Blobsta That sounds cool to me!
     That's not really what I meant though. I meant that people around 40, though I did start feeling it in my 30s, the social perception is that you're supposed to stop liking any of the fun stuff you used to be into and become boring, and optionally bitter.

     You get me! But then it also works for others. For my 14th birthday my cousin who I had maybe met twice in my life sent me a bunch of CDs by people like Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys. I was pretty well disgusted!

     @Fragglemuppet when I got my 30 year service award at work (I am over 50), it was a voucher to buy something off a gift site. Vacuum cleaners, logo fleece sweatshirts, coffee mugs. Super boring stuff like that. I redeemed my points for a ukulele. No clue how to play it, but it's been great fun watching lessons on YouTube and giving it a go. Luckily my family was encouraging 🙂. You have to just go after what you think will be fun. Haters need to just let people like what they like.

     I played Ice Hockey for most of my 40s (picked it up in my 30s).
     I bought a laser cutter and learned how to design vectors so I could cut with it.
     I go to a medieval themed camping event with 10,000 of my closest friends (really about 10 and 9,990 strangers) and hang out wearing funny clothes for a week+.
     I volunteer at my local animal shelter taking dogs for afternoons out.
