   I asked earlier and had various vague replies.

   Any one know?

     @ewdocparris Yes, the current influx of new subscriptions and upgrades to servers made me close the sign ups. Please email waitlist@masto.host if you want to be notified once sign ups are open again.

     Hi mastohost!
     I was looking at your website just this morning.
     Looks like all the pricing tiers are currently unavailable.
     Is that due to the current tsunami?
     Will those become available soon?

     @ewdocparris It's part-time for me. We've always had very few problems, and even with this massive influx it's taken maybe an extra hour of time each day to address everything.

     This is especially helped by having someone to manage our infrastructure these past 5 years, @mastohost. When we needed to scale this past week, I just upgraded and it was handled fine.

     Would you have time to answer a few questions via DM regarding the care and feeding of a mastodon instance?
     I think I have the technical skills to handle it but I'm wondering about the time commitment and moderating needs.

     I guess I got in under the wire last week.
     There sure are a lot of Twitter #WritingCommunity members looking for invitations.
     I own a writer friendly domain name, I wonder if I ought to start an instance to start giving them a home.

     @wordsmith @ewdocparris We could keep throwing resources at it and growing this instance, but there's also the manual work needed to moderate and maintain this community.

     Since I'm the only admin, and it's still manageable and finally running smoothly on the technical side, I'd like to keep us at our current size.

     As people eventually leave, we can look at opening invites again. But there's no definite timeline on that. In the meantime, I'd recommend sending people to other instances.

     @ewdocparris Only @matt or another admin can say. We're almost at 2000 active users, twice that at which the server went to invite only so I assume that the server load is having to be closely monitored.

     @vwbusguy That's because @ewdocparris emailed info@masto.host and I replied and added his email to wailist@masto.host manually.

     Emails sent to waitlist@masto.host will only receive a reply once they sign ups are open.
