I wonder how long it'll take for #ICE to just run some of these bozos over when they're standing in front of their cars. It'd be bad for optics but who cares, #Trump isn't up for reelection.

You said they were throwing stones.

Self defense is important but it isn’t an open license to kill. Especially if you’re a cop or acting in a police role. Obstruction of justice isn’t a death sentence without a trial. That’s some Ashley Babbit level bullshit.

Think about it. You are in a car. An enclosed space built to protect you from collisions at a much higher velocity and impact than throwing a rock. And your response is to crush them with said multi ton vehicle. That might be a tough sell even in TX.

@midway @realcaseyrollins@social.teci.world Get enough people and you might be able to flip your vehicle, or if it's a militarized vehicle given enough time they might be able to break through the glass to attack those inside. It is preposterous to say that it is safe to be mobbed in your car by violent thugs.

@midway @realcaseyrollins@social.teci.world Why wouldn't it be self defense if they're throwing rocks, or considered stopping obstruction of justice if they're preventing lawful arrests?

In general you don’t get to kill someone over that. But in a CA court? No way in hell.

I get the sentiment but they’d be charged with vehicular assault at a minimum and possibly as much as murder depending on the outcome. As an ICE officer, is that worth it to you?

@midway @realcaseyrollins Well yeah it wasn’t a clean kill, I think he got fired or something it.

So you’re saying the cops are supposed to wait until they got shot to shoot back? Bad take.

I’ve seen it. I’ve rewatched it. I don’t believe that was a clean kill. You had officers standing right next to the guys breaking the glass…they didn’t shoot anyone. Why is that? Because there was no personal assault on them.

Do I agree with everything that happened there? No. I’m not justifying anyone who was actually violent. Arrest them, charge them, let them stand trial. But shooting someone is a last resort.

That is the standard when the left gets out of hand. But when it’s the right, it’s different because …. reasons.

Nope. You don't shoot an unarmed person. The officer's life wasn't in danger from the person he shot.

      What makes you say that?
