The age of oldschool KDE and Windows Vista style glass interfaces is BACK
Take THAT flat design, nobody liked you as an unimaginative, boring era
The age of oldschool KDE and Windows Vista style glass interfaces is BACK
Take THAT flat design, nobody liked you as an unimaginative, boring era
and since literally everyone rushes to copy whatever trend Apple puts down in design maybe the era of international UI/UX flat design tragedy can finally be put behind us
It's no coincidence that the last decade of interfaces mixed flat design and Corporate Memphis artwork because they're pretty much the same, unimaginative, boring bullshit
In 5 years Gnome will follow suit with a new, mandatory retheming of everything to match the new popular trends and tell us now that's the only one we can have, right as they're becoming unpopular again
Please, Blender and the GNU Image Manipulation Program, can we have icons that are visually distinguishable like the old ones again as part of this trend, I'm begging you
Gnome can we also have theming again while we're at it
@cwebber The image editor that shall not be named does let you change back to the old colorful icon theme (at least I think it's the old one). In fact if I'm not mistaken they redrew the "legacy" icons as scalable SVGs for 3.0.
@cwebber No.
@KekunPlazas oh well I guess not then
@tauon tell me more
@cwebber@social.coop christine i think you would really like stk and the meow desktop. too bad i have adhd and can't put it into a ready-to-use state
@cwebber I had an amazing conversation on here one time where I was complaining about gnome/gtk's hostility towards theming and one of the gtk developers sealioned in to tell me that theming never was real and I'm wrong to ask for it
