Yikes! still running the same hardware they had when I did some contract work to fix some issues 2 decades ago.
Redundancy is the biggest issue. Standard PCs are not properly redundant for 24/7 reliability. We could have given each ATC controller 2 full consoles (primary & backup) if we could have used standard PCs and done it for less cost.
Then there is security. It needs to run on an isolated network with data only links between sites to limit integrity loss if a site is hacked.
