The "expanded" version, which I linked above, has some curious song titles though, including "Cocksucker"
What was the rationale for this song title though, I wonder? Was it because of one of the things a character in the movie says (or originally said)? Or is it generally just a homophobic slur which found its way in?
I mean, many of Trent Reznor's older songs did have questionable titles. The Quake soundtrack, which I absolutely love and listen to a lot, has "R*pe" as one of its track names. I mean, common in the 90s sadly, pretty sure a Nirvana song had that also on the album Bleach
Ok I challeneged a couple of track names in the last two posts but also some of these track names in the published pre-expanded soundtrack are really quite phenomenal, including "Hand Covers Bruise". What a name!
And really there are few albums that will just carry you through nearly two hours of work with so much assistance with focus as this album. I really recommend keeping it in your regular "I need help focusing" rotation
@zalasur @cwebber well, we know the origin story of that one (according to al jourgenson at least) and it is homophobia, albeit from the owner of wax trax. though i don’t think co-opting someone else’s homophobia really excuses it.
being a queer kid who was into electronic music in the ‘90s really had its ups and downs lol
@cwebber Reznor also released a track for the Black Sabbath tribute album We Sold Our Soul for Rock and Roll under "1000 H*mo DJs" (they did a cover for Sweet Leaf which was really good but yeah that whole thing was really cringey).
@brhfl @zalasur being a queer kid in the 90s really had its ups and downs in general lol
@Krazov Oh, yeah that makes sense. The original game didn't have a "track listing", so yeah.
@cwebber It was "It Is Raped," and the title surprised me, but from what I know, the official titles were given only a couple of years ago for the vinyl/official/outside-of-the-game release. Back in the 1990s, we would use level names for them. Even if he sat on these titles for decades, it's not really an older song title.
