Thoughts and Prayers Heading into WWDC 2025

There may be big picture issues, but it’s the small bugs and annoyances that add up to an unreliable sum.

@WarnerCrocker I completely understand that not every single bug can be fixed, but when there are basic usability bugs that aren’t fixed, it’s disconcerting. My list:

      1. “Now Playing" complication on watchOS. It doesn't do anything, and hasn't since watchOS 11 b1.

2: Apple TV and how it doesn't actually switch from “Movies" to "TV Shows" (or vice versa) until I switch a second time.

3: "Movies" and “TV Shows" still appear in iTunes on iOS and you cannot remove them. They're useless.

@waynedixon I didn't even begin to list any of the bugs and issues with any of Apple's media offerings. I've encountered each you mentioned. As I said, it's just laziness, lack of prioritization, or" who cares " approach. Regardless, it sure gives lie to the Apple quality narrative.

@WarnerCrocker Exactly. You cannot say you have the "best" products, without actually caring about software quality, and features. The Apple Watch will not be the "best" health watch without a working blood oxygen sensor. But, that may just me being irritated about Apple not realizing this.

@waynedixon I think many of us have reached the point where irritation is the mildest of our reactions.

@WarnerCrocker Replaced an old Intel Mini with a MBAir M4 last month, keeping the big 32" screen. One day my dock and app switcher jumped to the MBAir screen which when I’m home is set up as an second extended display.

WTF is this madness? Oh. It's a feature that cannot be turned off. If you slam the mouse pointer to the bottom of one screen, the dock et all jumps to the other. But not consistently.

Enragening! Same for the one that if you drag a window too fast (I think, as I can’t reliably reproduce it) the window size explodes. Grrr.
