I can't stand listening to whatever animal got in my wall. Unfortunately, my spraying repellent where this creature had been building a home backfired, and now he's in parts I can't access, and are closer and louder. GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY NEST, YOU FUCK!!!

This is one of the reasons I don't own a gun. I'd be tempted to deal with this intruder with it, I do not know my impulse control when overwhelmed, and it'd be REALLY unsafe for everyone beyond that wall.

I am not a violent person, but intrusions in to my nest space trigger the fuck out of me and I'll attack. I do not tolerate uninvited beings in my space!

@hazelnot As far as I'm concerned, anything that has the audacity to intrude on my one little room has forfeited the benefit of any "moral dilemma" and better flee if it wishes to live.

@hellomiakoda I keep trying to tell myself this cause I even have moral dilemmas with cockroaches in my flat even though I know they're objectively harmful to humans 😭

@hazelnot I get that, I just don't hold that same view. No one would fault a bear if I decided to go intruding in their den and got mauled. In this case, I'm the bear and this is my den.

@hellomiakoda Yeah but the moral dilemma is "does taking a life not make me worse than the creature I just killed in the grand scheme of things?" 😭

@hazelnot I'm sure we've had different traumas resulting in very different POVs about it.
I hope you find a solution that works for you.

@hellomiakoda it's not about being at fault, it's just, like I said, me not wanting to commit murder

I'm not accusing you of it, like I said, I try to reassure myself whenever I end up killing cockroaches and stuff... but it doesn't really work and I still feel that way 😔

@hazelnot On a lighter note about invited vs uninvited beings -
If I latch my cat door and forget to unlock it, he'll actually knock on the door. At first, I thought it was just that he'd attempt to go through and bonk, but I got to see him do it once. He'll try the the cat door, and if it's locked, he'll actually knock on it with his paw. It's adorable AF. He knows how to get in anyway, but only breaks in if I'm in crisis.

@hazelnot How he breaks in - Because my room can get dangerously hot if the AC is off, I made it habit to only ever latch it exit only when I'd like some cat-free time, instead of fully latched. He figured out that he can hook a claw under it and pull it open the wrong way.

@hazelnot Last time he broke in, I was harmful stimming, and he came in and climbed on my lap. It was enough to bring me out of it. 🥰
Not sure he knows the whole situation, but he knew something wasn't right.
