     @2ch The only ed(1) I don't like is the one from Busybox, like it's so incredibly scuffed it partially doesn't supports using regexes.

     @2ch Yeah, no m or t in busybox ed either, but lack of proper regex support to me (for example in addresses) just turns busybox ed(1) into something more like DOS edlin because it means it doesn't even catches to Unix V1 ed(1): https://www.tuhs.org/cgi-bin/utree.pl?file=V1/man/man1/ed.1

     @lanodan I haven't used busybox's ed since basically forever but I think it fully supported almost none of ed's commands... (like I think my first experience with alpine was launching ed and m and t didn't work)
     But heirloom is very comfy :cirno_bliss:

     @2ch heirloom (aka Solaris) version is great but build system is wonky. OpenBSD's ed is a good replacement, especially since it was made portable by ibara: https://github.com/ibara/oed

     @2ch @icedquinn @takao IIRC it has a version for something like Unix V10, but yeah it's pretty much tied to Plan9.
