    @kimapr @badcel @deutrino
    considering that most of the devs within gnome are in communities that take anything other than affirmation as attacks i really dont think discussion will help

    if people just see criticism as an attack theres no point in extrapolating criticism in the first place

    gnome does what nobody doesnt

      @badcel @TheEvilSkeleton I don’t think either of you two are being helpful here. @deutrino is frustrated with GNOME UI design language, it being adopted by apps that are not GNOME. Your responses are basically telling them that they are wrong to feel that way, and also linking a PR that doesn’t even address any of the issues they have, like you didn’t even read anything they said.

      And honestly i think i might agree with them completely, like just looking at the old UI in the Pinta docs im like “this seems nice” and then i look at the new UI and im just like What the fuck is this i hate everything about it. Like:

      • what happened to the title bar? It’s not a title bar anymore? Buttons shouldn’t go there, it’s for grabbing the window and moving it, and displaying the title.
      • what deutrino said
      • Completely colorless icons, with little character. It’s much harder to tell them apart and find the icon i’m looking for when they’re all exactly the same at a glance.
      • Why is everything so large. wrt first bullet point you could say not misusing title bar would waste space but maybe you wouldn’t feel the need to do that if you didn’t make everything so large and add 1 grillion margins everywhere. I would understand if it was out of accessibility concern (but for that there should just be an option to make UI larger, not make it less usable for everyone who doesn’t need that) but clearly it is not, it’s just a pointless chase for eye candy at all costs

      @TheEvilSkeleton

      sorry I meant my comment to support Pintas developers and in the bigger sense the GNOME community in general.

      It was not targeted against you in any way.

      All the hate going on is really not nice. I wanted to awaken some empathy in @deutrino thats all.
