Just saying.-

@Escoffier @CliffSecord @seriesoftubes Don't know.
I got Doom (2016) from Steam and it works a treat! But, you know, id software. They know what they're doing. Nothing else will start. Click on the icon, the machine pulls stuff from the, um, hard stick (?) and when it tries to switch to the game, the machine blinks and doesn't. Tried with several games.
Very disappointing. Also, I'm not a Linux guy. I tried to follow a few tutorials and install a couple of extra programs that Linux supposedly needs to run programs written for Winblows, but nothing.
I should probably go find a local Linux Users Group and ask someone who knows what he's doing to take a look. -

@mothersmurfer @CliffSecord @seriesoftubes It's weird because all I hear is linux is great with games but most people on gab and here struggle with them. Have you tried installing a windows emulator? It's kind of a bitch but it might help.
Any #linux folks have any ideas? -

@CliffSecord @seriesoftubes I'm running Linux Mint which is mostly ok. I can't run games though, and that's really disappointing. -

@matty @CliffSecord @Escoffier @mothersmurfer @seriesoftubes To claim that windows reliably runs proprietary slop games is quite a claim - considering the amount of breakage. -

I just dual boot because Windows is the only platform you can reliably play games on - at least anything modern (slop). -

That would be a feature, since you can indeed execute video games. Of course, the GNU operating system is not designed to execute proprietary malware.翠星石 likes this. -
