     @p @Doll @shibao @ForbiddenDreamer @bleedingphoenix yeah you're not the first one mentioning this to me, I thank you for mentioning it but I'm currently waiting for some network equipment that I want to install so I can support vlans when I have that upgrade done I feel safe enough to enable tour in my IPS.

     But I first want to separate my public facing servers and services from my private and internal services. 😅

     @p @Doll @shibao @ForbiddenDreamer @bleedingphoenix I have one of those new Ubiquiti Dream Routers the 7 series, it has some impressive software on it in including suricata i think, it can also do deep packet inspection if im not mistaken.

     Whole reason i got it was for the builtin IDS/IPS

     Great for tracing down threats inside your network.

     Oh, yeah, I believe it. The ARM clusters are TuringPi boards, incredibly quiet and I could probably ditch the case fans because they all sit a few degrees over room temperature. The "real" server gear is louder, bigger pain in the ass, eats more power, and somehow *less* reliable, so I'm probably moving most of its functionality to the ARM cluster.
     
     @dcc used to have his server in a pantry with no case, just boards and drives on a shelf. Kinda hilarious.

     I will get a rack when I have a house that I buy instead of rent because sound pollution is a real thing for me when I try to sleep that's why I put this server board in a tower case it's actually really quiet even under Max load the GPU makes more noise than a CPUs

This is why those two monitors fit, they have a bunch of buttons and settings for doing, like...broadcast TV production.
