@sun I love in the Clerks cartoon, where the NBA All Star Team gets called into jury duty, so the league replaced them with the WNBA All Star Team and NBC decides mid-broadcast to just air Will and Grace reruns instead

@mrsaturday walsh was showing where a stupid asshole player deliberately fouled that white player and a reporter was asking the white player "what point where you trying to make" and she responded something like "it was a foul and we are playing basketball". So some black commentator openly said "it's really obvious that player hates caitlyn clark. like, not rivalry, personal hate". And some other black commentator went into a big rant about the other commentator guy doesnt understand black women because he is married to a white woman. Like imagine a white person not only saying something that detestable but then no one says anything.

@mrsaturday they also (again) attempted to flip the obvious hate and racism about a successful white player by fabricating completely evidence-free claims that people were shouting racial slurs (in a stadium) (no one noticed) (nothing recorded them)

@mrsaturday I don't give a shit about the WNBA but I give a shit that these people are out walking around just unraveling the sweater of society by tugging on every string

@sun Yeah, I heard about that mess, local media here is trying to play the "racist Indianans" angle when well over half of Indiana's roster is black. This isn't even the first time Chicago's star player has assaulted Indiana's on the court like this.
As for the national media, I'm a little shocked. Just a little, because that's the audience they've courted since the WNBA's exception, but instead of Lilith Fair on a basketball court, we get 2010s feminism with a game attached to it. It's not like the NBA is much better. LeBron can spraypaint "hale hortler"-tier mangled swastikas on the garage door of his gated community home, cry about how the Nazis hate him, and no one questions him or thinks worse of him for it.

@sun Most people learned about Worse NBA when one of their players tried to smuggle drugs into Russia a few years ago.
