    @benda Hey! Not sure there are a lot of "go-to" tenor recordings. The cats in the 50s used them a lot -- guys like Scatman Crothers and the like. Mostly I just play one because it's what I can do. I am a fiddle player, and when I ended my former music project during the 2020 shutdown, I needed to find a way to play so I could sing. Having learned strumming instruments by playing the uke, my muscle memory was such that I worried about those other two strings getting in the way. So I had a special tenor with a wider neck built for me and started woodshedding until I could confidently play out. Been doing it for four years now, and I'm not going back.

      @jvw @benda The original tenors were actually banjo necks attached to small guitar bodies as I understand it. So they are WAY too narrow for me, but mostly because of my terrible mechanics. I’m pretty heavy on my left hand, and continually pulled the E off the edge of the board. So I had my guy base the width off my bari uke and it works like a charm.

      As for tuning, I use d g b e - just a guitar sans two bass strings. Works for me.

      @adammoe2022
      Now I want to hear, too!

      I hear you on the wider neck. My wrist gets so tired playing on mine because the neck is so small.

      Do you use standard CGDA or one of the droney tunings? What breakthroughs did you have on the instrument and what helped lead you there?

      @benda

      Karine Polwart is the only tenor player I know of off the top of my head but once you leave the sound you start to hear them more often. My YouTube feed sends me vids of electric tenor which sounds interesting...

      @jvw @benda Oh, and you’re asking about my music too? While it isn’t tenor-centric, my new album is all over the place on every music streamer there is. If you wanted to give it a spin, you could listen either on Spotify (I know, but I need all the audience I can muster) or BandCamp has the album info more front and center. Just search my name or the album title Leaving Can’t Be Wrong.

      My website adammoemusic.com has some solo stuff, so the tenor is right out front.
