Ewwww
Well, the authors won't get a lot of royalties from the library; but still... how there's this crap and not actual books to learn e.g. programming is beyond me.

@reidrac A conclusion I got years ago, is most people genuinely dislike learning 😔 We who find joy in learning are rare birds. It's disheartening, but this explains so many things.
@doragasu @reidrac yesterday I literally tought the same at Casa del Libro in Spain. There were good ones... at the Engineering and Math sections. And, two, TWO programming books at CS/IT.
@reidrac @doragasu @pluralistic they used to have good ones, but at the upstairs floor, where there's one full of technical volumes.
@anthk @doragasu I haven't paid much attention at regular bookshops, but I doubt computer science books will be on the shelves.
Essentially because space is very expensive.
I'm sure you can request any book; in fact, without being technical, at my local bookshop I had to request books by @pluralistic -- and you would have thought he's mainstream enough to have at least his latest book(s). Turns out: nope.
