     Man my mother is helpless to do anything about our world going to shit other than her astrology charts. You want me to criticize those, and take away the only hope she has left? Maybe we don't fall for psychics so much as have no other option.

     Yeah I'm just saying people get their agency taken away by the police, and money, and private property, and unfriendly neighbors. When they submit to a higher power, there's no agency left to take away. I'd rather not let the people stealing our agency off the hook, to blame my mother for seeking comfort instead. I wish I could believe in astrology!

     @cy I feel that. It's natural to seek comfort or blame where we can. 😞

     But this kind of perspective that blames a higher power or fate or "the stars" is one that takes away our agency & responsibility to do anything about it or speak up, vote, volunteer, etc. It's a comforting cop-out.
