    What is the world record marathon or half marathon pace on a low carb diet as opposed to on a high carb diet?

    Are they close to the same or far enough off that one would suspect one type of diet is better than the other for marathon and half marathon speed?

    Does anyone have information on this?

      @shortstories I can't find the world record, but some people do it. I assure they will be more on the slow side but still around 3 hours or better in the elites.

      @BowsacNoodle

      Which ones are you saying are more on the slow side, the high carb ones or the low carb ones?

      @shortstories High carb, or at the very least non keto diet. Every endurance athlete knows about the wall. There is a certain point where you cannot produce blood glucose fast enough for your consumption and you run out of glycogen. Ketosis has a similar thing with easily accessible fat, but for me it's not as much of a cliff. Might be individual genetics or metabolic conditioning at that point, but I'm not sure.
