I do high stress work. I watch people die. I do surgical procedures in moving vehicles and in chaotic trauma bays. I deal with violent, drunk, and high people all the time. I can tell you this — when people make my environment more dangerous, I will look chill and work through it to keep everyone safe, but I am gonna be shaking and can’t think well for a bit afterwards every time.

When citizens surround ICE guys and scream at them, that’s what is happening to ICE. Keep it up! It does matter.

You generally won’t see me advocate violence. What I’m saying is, screaming at ICE agents, demanding documentation, recording their voices and faces, telling them they are ruining lives and acting like Nazis — that all works. These fucks go home and take that baggage with them. You don’t need (or want) violence there usually. You want a pressure campaign to shame these shitweasels into slowing down, “accidentally” losing targets, and quitting. Friction. Slow the machine down.

@mcnado History has shown that eventually one of ICE Gestapo will feel threatened and snap, opening fire on the crowd with his buddies following suit.

@mcnado somehow you imply they have a *conscience*?

Have you watched the videos of their glee, at inflicting harm, pain and misery unto humans?

Once they made the *conscious" CHOICE of accepting that task, they're no more human than the filth that ran concentration camps in 1930s.

They lost their humanity, threw it away, and we should treat them as such.

      #ICE #gestapo #MAGAt thugs are not human.

@mcnado I don't think it works in the slightest *on them*. They are not human.

However it is effective as you say. The same way arguing with a bad person online can be. They are not your audience. You're not going to change their minds or actions through shame because they have none.

The third parties watching and seeing what monsters they are, and the example you're setting standing up to them, are the audience.

@faraiwe @mcnado I think what he is saying is, these people are not machines. They have bodies. They have built-in hormonal and neurological responses to stress. I call that being human. You may not. So, work with those built-in hormonal and neurological responses to make their jobs so miserable for them that they will stop doing them. Or will engage in work, slowdowns, invisible sabotage, etc.

I believe that by calling other people not human, we participate in the shit we’re fighting. 1/

@mcnado And no I'm not going to play "oh no you can't dehumanize them, that's being just like them" games. This is paradox of tolerance 101 stuff. Nobody is less human because of the circumstances of their birth or things that make them different, but if you believe they are and act as part of a violent inhuman machine carrying out their extermination, you have surrendered your humanity and any consideration that would entitle you to.
