I think the main reason Americans hate bus travel is they've never actually experienced a good system that works. Denver's RTD system is great, there is a bus about every 30 minutes and its been great

@Rasp It's true. The (mostly) bus system here in inner #Seattle is pretty darn robust! :blobfoxthumbsup: (We use the light rail when it's a reasonable route for our trip, though. :blobfoxgoogly: )
I remember back when the buses (mostly) very competently drove through some of the iciest and slipperiest conditions here in Winter…many years ago. I'm so sad that I'll probably never see a really cold day ever again here, with so many Type 2 fun times with weather conditions that will only be memories going forward… :blobfoxcry2: :blobfoxsweating:

@Rasp Most of the time I hear about pubtrans experiences in this country, it involves either filthy vehicles, handsy passengers, or getting scammed.
I keep thinking about how Switzerland (as far as I know) has gun ownership per capita on par with the US (if not exceeding it), but their gun culture is way better so you never hear about significant gun violence from there.
What we need is better culture about it. Better regulations are also necessary, but the two work together to make shit good.If only pubtrans wasn't effectively limited to major metropolitan areas.
