throughout my entire adult life I've met people who saw some skill I had and wanted to learn it for themselves
but none of them ever wanted to put in the work. back when I was still naive enough to try to play mentor I would tell them things they should do, they would consistently fail to do them, and then they would get frustrated and angry at their lack of improvement. as if just expressing an interest in learning was enough to make it happen. and of course every single one of them gave up after a few months
if you're not willing to put in the work, to be bad at something, to struggle anyway and practice, practice, practice, you are simply never going to be good. and it's entirely your fault you suck
