@Network btw, actually reading through it, it seems this is classic disinformation, journos do what journos do, if you needed more reason to hate them, they published this for the pure reason of blackpilling and making the Clergy look dumb.
https://www.politico.eu/article/cardinals-watch-conclave-movie-for-real-life-guidance/
>“Some have watched it in the cinema,” a cleric involved in the real thing admitted to POLITICO.
THIS IS THE ONLY THING THAT THEY HAVE TO WORK WITH HERE, LITERALLY EXTRAPOLATED THE REST, THIS IS THE ONLY QUOTE THEY SOURCED.
now either they made the "for reference" shit up, and extrapolated this to get the headline, or a cleric either said it and they didn't quote it, now it doesn't take a genius to conclude it probably is the former.
whether a cleric admitted it or not, this is to be disregarded, if they did, then they should have quoted them, and the fact that this is the only thing they are working with means it's certainly disinformation, this is objective journalistic failure, and the fact that it's not illegal to do this is bewildering.
and notice how he says "Some", if it really was used as reference, wouldn't you think ALL would have watched it? not even "Most", this is "Some", in the CINEMA, AKA, they watched it PRIVATELY, in their own free time.
they just watched it, not *for actual pointers mind you*, there's a lot of newer cardinals who are not familiar with the process, but they are definitely not using it as a reference.
granted, i did not watch it myself, so i don't really know what it conveys and how myself.
they just know that they watched it, the reasons why they would are numerous, but it's pretty much guaranteed that it's not to "learn the process".
the biggest reason would be obvious personal interest, this movie is being shown, and it's about YOU, and the CHURCH, it is pretty much guaranteed they viewed it super Critically, the only "pointer" or educational resource this serves as, is PR research, aka "how do Laymen and non-Catholics view the Church?"
frens, be careful of blatant disinfo, remember, they do not view you as friends.
put everything they say relating to our Faith to the utmost Scrutiny.
Whenever you see them, uncover Falsehoods and Rumors about our Lord as what they are.
