     When someone is overdosing on opiates their breathing is severely suppressed and they're weak. They sure as fuck can't flail around and scream "I can't breath!". They just nod out and pulmonary function ceases.

     It's like an hour of your time and you'll might even save someone's life someday.
     
     (If the cop revived him with Narcan because he was OD'ing, he might need to restrain him. Sometimes people will come out of their drug-induced stupor swinging and angry. But that's not what happened.)

     @SlicerDicer @feld @DXMacGuffin @mischievoustomato they're not really comparable, though. CPR circulates blood, while AED converts V-fib and V-tach. CPR is useful in cases of asystole, while an AED is fully useless under these circumstances

     Anyway they have apps and shit for AED so you can find nearest on the map and there's even an app (locally to here?) where you can get push notifications if someone in the area needs CPR. I had it installed for a couple days and it was surprising how often it comes up
