remember, if your "justice" needs another word to explain it, it's not justice.

@sickburnbro This particularly bothers me, because "Social Justice" was originally a Christian thing about making sure poor people weren't physically abused and exploited without consequence and the promoting is human dignity during the industrial revolution. It's not the first time the wicked usurped language and it won't be the last.

@BowsacNoodle indeed. The question still remains - if you need to add extra words to justice, is it even justice? The problem for "social justice" was why did they add those? My fear is because many of those that were into that were the same that cry for "restorative" justice or "racial" justice now.

@Forgetful_Gynn indeed, it has an extra word because it produces less justice.

@sickburnbro You're not wrong. They rebranded it to "Catholic Social Teachings" or something like that. In a way, it was a product of its time though— the industrial revolution and its impact on society and individuals was not something we could prepare for. Similar things happened when Capitalism and Socialism both became dominant ideologies, and the Catholic Church responded with Rerum novarum and other statements against the concentration of wealth and exploitation of people. Being born into this, it's hard to imagine there was a time when power and wealth was concentrated than it is today.
