@taylan because HSTS explicitly states homosexuality and therefore strongly implies the sexual nature of it, while non-AGP cases can be non-homosexual or non-sexual at all. This is freud shit "everything is a penis and everyone wants to fuck their mom" elevated to absurdity.
@hj Why do you say HSTS is bullshit? It seems much rarer nowadays, relatively speaking I mean, but pretty sure it still exists. During my forays into gender critical social media-sphere, I've encountered a bunch of HSTS who were critical of the transgender movement, since it's mostly led by AGPs and HSTS don't really have much benefit from it / are potentially harmed by it since it decreases societal acceptance when AGPs represent them.
@taylan the problem is that HSTS is being used as umbrella term for "non-AGP" or "not-strictly-AGP" but this ends up stigmatizing and hurting those people.
@hj I don't agree. There seems to be a significant subgroup of men who have always been very effeminate from childhood, come out as gay in adolescence, and start to identify as trans quite young, usually ending up fitting in relatively well with women without too much effort...
It's not "sexual" per se, but likely due to not being able to fit in with boys, and feeling more at ease mingling with girls, so they end up thinking they were "ought to be" a girl. If the sexism and homophobia experienced by someone is sufficiently bad, it becomes easier for a young mind to conceptualize themselves as a "girl born in the wrong body" ("it's my body's fault, not mine; I'm just a normal girl actually") than as an "effeminate gay boy" ("eww faggot, what's wrong with him"). It allows one to deflect one's insecurities outwards from the mind (identity), and externalize them towards the body, dissociating from the body and convincing oneself that it's not part of the "true" self.
Very different from what is now the majority of MtF trans, who are nerdy, mostly-straight guys, who either get off from cross-dressing and pornified performances of effeminacy, or in some cases, yearning for being "allowed" to express "effeminate" behavior that is normally verboten to males. In case you haven't read my blog post about this, I'd recommend it: https://blogs.feministwiki.org/socjuswiz/2019/10/20/masculinity-anime-and-gender-dysphoria/
@hj AGP itself shouldn't be stigmatized TBH. Sadly some overly aggressive AGPs have ruined it for everyone. I have mild AGP and when I mention this I sometimes have people making really weird assumptions about me. Like, I had someone ask "have you mentioned to your girlfriend that you're AGP??" and I'm like ... it's not who I am, bro. :blobcat-comfysweat: It's not that I "am" AGP, I just have mild AGP. It's not like I'm doomed to behave in certain ways and can't help myself or anything. I've never shopped for or worn women's clothes, for example. I'd probably enjoy it but CBA. It's not that serious...
It's like someone liking pineapple on pizza. If your partner is disgusted by pineapple on pizza, then you just don't put pineapple on the pizza when you have pizza together. (And if she doesn't want you to have pizza without her, then you just don't ever get to eat pizza with pineapple anymore... Which is fine?? It's not like I'm gonna die if I don't eat pizza with pineapple??)
