   A completely self-inflicted recession. We haven't seen the US do something so willfully stupid to itself since Herbert Hoover signed the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act of 1930.

     “The economy” is not some elite abstraction. “The economy” is the roof over your head and food on your table.

     Hope everybody who cried about eggs and thought the economy was bad because a quarter pounder was cheaper 30 years ago really enjoys what's coming next.
