     @prettygood @theorytoe personally, i think that 'psyop', in the way it is used today, is dumb as hell. people seem to think that falling for one is some kind of end-all mistake, but in most cases, like a million people each giving one person a dollar, they have minimal effects on the victims and only really have an effect on the ones behind it.
     
     also, psyops are exceedingly rare, and much less prevalent than an extended stay on Fedi would make you believe. it's largely a dumb schizo term.

     @prettygood @Asklepian @theorytoe @rosey @Nepiant Feds tracked eye movement in relation to electronic billboards over a decade ago, I'm sure the more tech savvy ad companies are doing the same to sell advertising at higher rates by now. They also sell camera feeds to private investigators, repo men, and police already, if you consider a license plate number a sort of tracking cookie.
