   This is an extremely good book despite being old as dirt. The nice thing about single processor cores not advancing for the last 20 years is that most of the optimization techniques it lists are still highly necessary today

     @professionalbigot69 processors just started packing in more cores. The actual speed boost for single cores has basically stopped long ago.
     
     Games are still mostly single threaded.
