This is super exciting, and I'm not just saying that because I work here. We've started running regular driverless big rigs between Houston and Dallas taking commercial loads. 18 wheelers with nobody at the steering wheel, not just trailing a manned vehicle in front of them, no tricks, real driverless trucks, are now making the 200 mile journey over public highways, a world first.

@bonifartius believe me, we've spent the last about 7 years cataloging a quite extensive taxonomy of the things

@sj Congrats! Does Aurora also drive while under big doses of amphetamines to more closely mimic real-world drivers? How is its CB etiquette?

@Lee_Holmes I was wondering why I'd hear a soft "breaker breaker 14" every so often near the trucks when nobody was in them.

Autonomous 18 wheelers. Self driving tractor trailers. Robot semis. Driverless trucks. (Unmanned lorries across the pond?) We really need to just agree on a word for this.
