     I have a buddy who had a girlfriend that publicly shamed him on Facebook for going to a strip club. I used to play basketball with him at least weekly until he married her. I haven't seen him in at least 10 years. I saw him once the week after the wedding and then he was gone.

     I have no idea. We warned him.
     
     One time we had a high-school buddy coming into town for the night. It was planned months in advance.
     
     The night comes. He doesn't show up. Call him. He says he'll be there in a little while. Time passes. Nothing. Call again. Same thing. Call again. He tells me his girlfriend and him are fighting. Basically, she started a fight so he wouldn't go out, and he didn't have the nuts to say he honors his commitments and it was planned months in advance.
     
     The signs were there.

     My wife and I have a very strict we keep it between ourselves policy. There's a myriad of issues that arise when you publicize your relationship, including how the other family members perceive you.
     
     We never fight as a result. Any issues were resolved long ago, and no one knows the better, so they're behind us.
