the #US seems to "only" have used the "#InternmentCamp" type, not the "destruction-camp" (style.) I've just read #TheLongWalk of the #Navajo again: though the #USgov's forces surely did not mind if a lot of the #NativeAmericans perished on the 300 mile track to #BosqueRedodo (#FortSumner, NM,) I can see no aim to intentional mass killings, e. g. through firing squads, which would surely have been possible, too.

Killing the buffaloes and taking away the food and hence lifestyle is also genocidal. It does not need firing squads at all… I was quite depressed after visiting the American Indian museum last month… the long marches did include intentional killing…
In any case it reminded me of the Armenian genocide by the Turks in WW1… as I said… of all times. Pure evil… mankind can be like that.

I, personally, would see it the same way, #Genocude, as does a #NativeAmerican academic:
"...The objective of US colonialist authorities was to terminate their existence as peoples—not as random individuals. This is the very definition of modern genocide as contrasted with premodern instances of extreme violence that did not have the goal of extinction."
However, many disagree, "Genocide will never become a widely accepted characterization for what happened @auschwitzmuseum
