   So, current real status on tariffs:

   - AliExpress is adding 177% "import fees" on top of purchase prices, presumably because they intend to pay tariffs for the aggregated shipments before remailing them domestic USPS.

   - Unconfirmed details: reportedly Ali vendors have to opt in to shipping to US ay all, some storefronts seem to be blocking US visitors entirely..?

   - Obvious ships-from-China Amazon sellers are normal price. Presumably Bezos bought exemption for packages labeled Amazon...

     @aburka Testing that. I'll follow up in a few weeks. Amazon does not label them as coming from China; it's only clear from shipping dates and knowledge of the industries. So if they don't arrive it's on Amazon to refund.

     @dalias there's also the fact that Amazon likes to juice their shipping times by predictively staging products in warehouses all over the place, so it could be quite some time before the shortages hit

     This is extremely bad for anyone who needs to get stuff, but at least it's aggregated with Ali shipping as the importer, not you the customer, so you don't end up with a $200+ minimum fee and ransom notes to deal with.
