Anyone have recommendations for good cheap VPS hosting in Canada or Europe? Fucking need a geofence bypass already for this fascist state. Inexpensive commercial wg-based VPN service would also be an option but I'm not interested in any VPN offerings with junkware clients.

@leah Oh, vultr has international, duh. Already a customer, that makes it super easy.

@BradRubenstein Vultr is 1/5 the price of Linode. 😁

Good experiences here with Linode/Akamai (US) for years at 1 vcpu, 2gb ram, 50gb ssd for $12/mo.
But I see Ionos (DE, used to be 1&1) is offering a similar sized VPS (2 vcpu, 2gb RAM, 80Gb ssd) for $4/mo (1yr commit). I'm inclined to check it out.
They both have data centers around europe (UK, DE, ES, etc).

I show linode with 2gb 1cpu 50gb at $12/mo, and vultr with 2gb 1cpu 55gb at $10/mo (but I couldn't get reliable networking).
Am I missing something? Did I miss the special coupon? 😃

@BradRubenstein Vultr is $2.50/mo for whatever the lowest ram & storage is (which is still 10x larger than needed for a server).

@dalias I was looking last week and found Leaseweb to be perfect bang for the buck. Otherwise there is Hetzner, Hostinger (when you don’t want a custom ISO), alphavps and upcloud. Netcup is the cheapest but the Ux is meh and I don’t trust them to be secure. I don’t have a reason tho
