@themilkman sounds like you found a great place! choir is great idea. depending on whether you are looking for a partner, those older ladies can probably set you up as well :02smile:

@kaia oh it's Novus Ordo, but the priest keeps a good job when it comes to focus, it's always about the Faith, compared to when we visited a Evangelacist church which was very dry in actual "God", those ones exclusively were "you should be charitable i guess" but none of the other important lessons on the christian lifestyle.
my Parish is very fun to be in, it's an excellent time, i started participating a lot more in the parish since i joined the choir, and they were very welcoming, it's mostly elderly there, and they are very very happy to see someone young start to participate with the faith, especially since i have been taking the faith very seriously.
maybe a bit embarrassing, but they also called me "a Blessing" to have in the Parish.
when i started to participate regularly, slowly after attendance started to increase too, which i am happy that is happening.
i am not attributing it to me ofc, i think i am part of a more general shift within my generation, i was tired of secularism, individualism and Materialism, but i also did feel a need for God, and the more i read and learn the more i am convinced it is the truth.

it is insanely fun, especially since i was already looking to sing, but the feeling of community definitely is what makes it amazing here

for a partner maybe in the future, if i do definitely after i get baptized (octobre), right now i am too focused on the faith itself, making sure i read up on the bible and research as much as i can, because if i get a partner now then it would probably distract me from the faith.
and i do wonder how appealing to women the concept of "Catholic Grandma approved Date" is, like sure they know i do firefighting and all that, but still i wonder if anybody takes that deal at all.
but for now i am still in the faith, and the focus is there for now, Dating can wait until after i properly set myself in the faith and started working proper

@kaia another thing that is great with me going Catholic, and dating Catholic is that for me no Sex (and sexual contact) being not allowed before marriage is a super good thing, i did consider how it helped me in that department.
i have made big leaps when it comes to my Gynophobia, i can talk to women pretty comfortably now, pretty much without stress, among groups of women i can handle myself too, maybe a bit awkward but it's nothing compared to being unable to breathe.
something that held me back from making any big moves is the fear of Bodily Contact (really anything beyond a handshake), if i actually start a relationship then i won't be able to, or fail to satisfy my partner, and the excuses would all be partially a failing of my initiative.
if i date Catholic, if there was a situation where she makes a move, i can just go to the Bible, and there it is, i can't do that before marriage, now i am fully convinced that that is wrong to do, and even if i were comfortable with that, then i shouldn't.
of course if i marry someone it would be because i am comfortable and trust them, and i did it of my own initiative and pure choice, that's for the best, not only for my mental health, but also for the Lord
