     this a legal need, considering the kinds of laws being passed in various countries

     "'think of the children' is a ploy for right wing control. resist, don't give in"

     and so then all of your mastodon servers get shut down in or shut out of various countries

     Unfortunately, binding regulations in the country where mastodon.social is hosted, a NSFW Tag is *not* sufficient youth protection, which would be their Problem if they wouldnt federate liability across the fediverse.

     I certainly don‘t care for smut being present on the Internet and don‘t care for the type of it.

     @v_d_richards @benroyce @MastodonEngineering I taught my kids you always lie about your age online and your birthdate is always [easy to remember date that makes you over 30] and you don't submit to tests that could try to verify it.

     When i talked to my daughters (11 and 13) about Social Media, i told them, that i will not allow them on any plattform before they are are 14, as is requiremt in most TOS anyways.

     I'd personally not shit my pants if they see something pornographic on the internet (didn't we all and we still live), because i trust them to do what is good for them, but i do not trust other adults.

     A server who allows minors (14-18) should've tighter moderation

     I must admit, that i would like the possibility to know if one is on a server that is
     14+
     or
     16+
     or
     18+.

     In Germany it is too illegal to show or distribute erotica with a certain level of depiction of sexuallity to minors. Porn is only allowed to be shown to 18+.
     So every NSFW artists on a social Media plattform who shares their art, even if behind a filter, commits a crime, if a minor sees it.

     I'd love to know the age so that i could block users under 16.
