   @jasmine Have you tried phanpy.social? It's a PWA and also supports notifications. I mostly don't even notice that it's not a "proper" app, it's so good!

     the deteriorating mastodon client situation (personal)

     • my moshidon has moved on from either a) not receiving google framework push notifications or b) using UnifiedPush but all the clients crash several times per day, to c) the "use UnifiedPush" toggle is on and can't be turned off but moshidon isn't even registered with a UnifiedPush client
     • tusky crashes on start if logged in to this account

     i can get notifications from the android web app whatever thing, i.e. use mastodon+glitch's own web ux but… it's so annoying!!! and also the notifications get consolidated into just one when there's like 8 of them and i don't want that

     did fedilab fix their bugs? there were so many it was unusable, threads recursing, markdown parser getting the escaping all wrong etc etc

     the sharkey and presumably misskey webby apps are actually okay, maybe i should migrate. just gotta find an instance that has the uptime and moderation policy and legal protections. or self-host…
