THE CLASSIC TRIMMER BIKE WHRRE YOU FRICTION DRIVE THE FRONT WHEEL WITH A FOOT PEG HAS A BALANCE PROBLEM
THE MOTOR HANGS OFF TO ONE SIDE LIKE A NUTSACK
PIC IS A REAR WHEEL DRIVE
DOESN'T THAT LOOK STABLE?
IF YOU'RE MOUNTING IT OVER THE FRONT WHEEL ON A SWINGING U-BRACKET SO YOU COULD PULL IT OFF THE WHEEL AS A CLUTCH,
(WHICH IS THE RIGHT CONFIGURATION FOR IT BY THE WAY)
YOU COULD POSITION IT WITH ITS CENTER OF MASS OVER THE CENTERLINE OF THE BIKE, AND THEN HAVE THE BMX PEG FRICTION DRIVE RIDING INSIDE THE U-BRACKET UNDER IT.
USE A PAIR OF SPROCKETS AND A CHAIN BETWEEN THEM
IT'S PARTS YOU'LL ALREADY HAVE AND IT'S NOT MUCH EXTRA WEIGHT
BESIDES IT'S WEIGHT OVER THE DRIVEN WHEEL SO IT'S EXTRA GRIP BOTH BETWEEN THE MOTOR AND WHEEL AND BETWEEN WHEEL AND GROUND-

@nugger if you're going to put in the rear like that, why not mount it so the trimmer is balanced over the rear wheel -

@nugger oh, friction drive. But why not just chain drive -

@nugger if you are already attaching a bracket and running a throttle cable, I don't really see installing a sproket as "way harder" -

@sickburnbro @nugger
I don't care for the friction drive either tbh. -

@pepsi_man @nugger don't get me wrong, it's still COOL, it's just well, as shown here, tricky to install in a safe way -

@sickburnbro @nugger i saw a video of a guy that did this, with the sprocket on the opposite side and connected to the bike's pedal sprocket
a lot of welding was involved
he moseyed along at a modest speed with a lot of noise -

@JoshuaSlocum @nugger I guess people don't make kits for these things, but there isn't any reason it couldn't be done.
