One thing in favor of 🐵 🧠 is that this is the minimum speed they guarantee, it can go up quite a bit depending on line of sight

@dev also consider getting a 5G Calyx hotspot. It's based on T-Mobile, but you have zero bandwidth caps or throttling because it's part of a special nonprofit deal that has rolled over for many years (surviving Clearwire -> Sprint -> Tmobile aquisitions. Contracts are contracts!)

@dev μwave will suffer from rain fade. That means no internet in the winter.
My parents used to have DirectTV, and the thing would cut out with even the lightest rain.
I have ATT fiber.

@jonathankoren @dev it's not so cut and dried as that. Channel size matters as well as other variables.
e.g., the AirFiber 24ghz (under mmwave which starts at 30ghz) often does worse than their 60ghz product in rain because the 24ghz uses 100mhz channels so it's more sensitive to rain fade.In conversation permalink -

I guess I misstated, it is not mmwave, it is microwave

@jonathankoren @dev actually I think @mWare can probably drop some notes in the thread as he's doing this kind of work daily up in Canada In conversation permalink
