    UK folks: Please write to your MP and ask them to request the Supreme Court of the UK to grant "Castellucci v Gender Recognition Panel" permission to appeal.

    I'm seeking a Gender Recognition Certificate matching my birth certificate based on a straightforward reading of the Gender Recognition Act.

      @ryanc Have followed up with my Lib Dem MP and his researcher, who is extremely sympathetic, asking the party as a whole to lend their backing.

      @ryanc I got a slightly odd reply -

      "I’m really sorry, but the Supreme Court is entirely and strictly independent from government, so there’s no way for MPs to make such a request. The Constitutional Reform Act 2005 says:

      "The Lord Chancellor, other Ministers of the Crown and all with responsibility for matters relating to the judiciary or otherwise to the administration of justice must uphold the continued independence of the judiciary."

      While there’s nothing we can do to help in this matter, please do keep emailing!"
