Are amphetamines (ADHD meds) supposed to make you LESS anxious? Everything I've read says no, yet...

@coolboymew kind-of
if your issues are of the right cause (traditional ADHD):
the meds do that yeah, increase your anxiety's intensity. anxiety is stronger if its there when it is there. BUT - the stimulants also allows you concentrate by temporarily chemically fixing the work-reward pathways, which means youll be less capable of multitask bad-focusing on anxiety inducing things, and have a greater capacity of acting faster and more. As long as there will be something to focus and act on, your brain will be less inclined to keep splitting off into anxiety inducing side thoughts. Also its easier to initiate a new action, which means even with the anxiety side thought, you may be able to much quicker deal with the issue. Which should lower the total amount of time felt anxiety-ridden.
So if you are strapped to a bed physically, and cant do shit, are completely physically powerless, and someone gives you amphetamines: this will make you way more anxious and stressed chemically. If you are not, odds are it can help you a lot.
All said with the assumption that the person talked about has the usual ADHD causes
