   like i can just pick up my phone right now and access my medical journal or tax information or such because i have a BankID, which is not ideal because it's tied to your bank account so it's still a bit dystopic, but it works
   
   this also means that we've been able to replace giving people money-in-hand by a bank-issued service called swish that allows you to just instantly transfer money between people's accounts (it's not instant on the backend, but it all adds up in aggregate for the banks so
   
   can also use it (and must use it) to book many things online in sweden, or enter person-less shops

     @whiteline @feld @sun @ageha i think people kinda don't want these world ID things because its a one-way trip to hell but every corpo wants it and every government is just dying for an excuse to force it

     @whiteline @ageha @feld @sun its one of those things similar to AI where the only real options are to just execute everyone involved or accept its inevitability. half measures do not work and just result in this exact thing (everything getting stapled to something weird like a bank card or tax numbers)
