     The optimist in me hopes all this means phones get updates more than a few years, and repairing/refurbishing gets taken a little more seriously

     @Rwoeidk @HAPPYPOTAMUS "run the latest apps" is kind of a misnomer though - this is only an issue because Apple controls the only way to install software.
     
     You can install most windows software on windows 7, which is 15 years old.
