     It's neither of those things. It's fucking Minecraft, every kid in the country nagged their parents to take them to see it. The IP prints fucking money because kids can't get enough of it.

     its kinda interesting to see how basically the core audience isnt even le kids anymore, its just youtube consuming children because all mojang has done is make more content to appeal to that audience
     
     the authenticity of the game feels nonexistent in its current state. The last time it even felt like it was the game people originally came to it for was 1.12.2 (some say earlier, but I only really got into the game after 1.6).

     tbh tho I dont really go apeshit over this kinda thing unlike most in the thread because I just dont really care anymore. Ive outgrown it and so many other media franchises because I do other things with my life now beyond just consuming it.
     
     maybe its just a result of my changing tastes as my interests have evolved over time but i can just live with it. I still can play old mc without a hitch so im not really mad where its going because I just dont care about that much
