   I just experienced massive existential dread realizing that I'm in my early--mid 30s and still single. In my mind I still feel like I'm 25 or something. ---I don't feel nearly 10 years older than that. Everyone I know is basically married and has kids and is settled down or in the process of settling down. And, I'm still like this single fun-loving bachelor that does whatever and parties and shit. Is it "too late" for me? Did I "fail to launch" or something? I'm I like the male equivalent of a "leftover woman"? Did I fuck up? 😰

     @BattleDwarfGimli I need to learn how to approach women IRL, off of apps. I'm not really worried about rejection---there's no expectation, it's all chill. But, moreso, just I don't know how to approach women, or what to say, or how to go about it, and I have a ton of anxiety just initiating a conversation, generally. @s2208

     I get what you're saying but there's a pattern manifest there as well. Everyone is on the apps. Which means it is the norm. Which means the girls will get bored with it very quickly, because they can't preen and look special. I'd opine, and this is just my opinion, that the quality fillies are going to be sulking in coffee shops, on university campuses.

     Coffee Meets Bagel is fine but it limits you to about 30 profiles a day

     @s2208 Which app lets you select for one's "type"? Most of them are just filters for things like how often one might drink or smoke, if they have kids or night, height, age, things like that. But, nothing more granular than that.

     Doesn't really matter much, though, if I can't get a match from anyone, which means I can't even send anyone a message in the first place.

     The real power of the apps is twofold
     1) you can select for your “type” and have access to a far greater number of such women.
     2) it costs nothing to hit on them. You can hit on all of them if you want.
     
     I get attention. It’s from older slampigs. But the women I’m theoretically after do answer my inquiries in small number too. It’s this latter function that makes the apps valuable.

     I think women just immediately "swipe left" on me because I'm bald. I get zero activity or attention on these apps when I'm state-side. It's like they're turned off or something---nothing.

     men age like wine. you have another ten years to build yourself up before you’re legit running out of time.
     
     women have basically 30 years, but men have more like 50. this is unfair but biologically true.

     @s2208 Yeah, everyone says that, but I don't know how true that is. And, I don't know how much more I can "build [myself] up" at this point. And, I don't want to feel old and be old when I finally meet someone that I can and want to spend my life with and build a family with and stuff. I want to enjoy things while I'm still young, with this other person.
