   @inquiline Someone corrected me on this, that chaos and collapse isn't degrowth, because degrowth is intentional, while chaos and collapse aren't. What I've come to say instead is that the end of growth is inevitable, but it will be our choice if this will be degrowth or collapse.

     I've been saying for a while that degrowthers are essentially right; it's simply a matter of choosing whether we want more planned & managed degrowth versus a more chaotic version organically happening due to planetary boundaries & climate chaos

     I confess I did not foresee this Secret Third Thing
