I think it is LLM-backed and they have changed something about it recently. Just a few months ago it was giving me very consistent translation from English to Russian and vice versa — now it's some utter gibberish, wrong tenses, wrong forms for some words — I know both languages so I see it quite clearly. I'd switch to DeepL backend on my Simplytranslate instance, but its re-implementation in Go doesn't have it and Google Translate got noticeably worse — not sure if this holds true for other languages.
