     @Wiz @fwc he was right about heat pumps being good for more climates than you'd think
     but totally wrong about sizing them. it's not at all reasonable to size a heat pump so it'd have to run continuously on just the average coldest day of the year to barely keep up with demand. and if you think "just put on a coat inside lol" is a good thing to say to your customers calling to complain that their heat pump isn't working right, your HVAC company should crash and burn.

     @fwc@0.5dollah.click kilowatt hours are not the same things as something like "miles per hour", since a kilowatt is already a measure of energy & time. KWH is saying how long you used the energy in the same way you could say you drove 60mph for 90 minutes.

     @munir @Wiz @skylar EV Bikes actually make more sense than cars because you can get solid range and you have a smaller overall battery. But again, it's limited to a certain use case.

     consider the sad state of gas powered tools in the hands of your average joe
     they've let their lawnmower sit all winter and now it's not gonna start cause there's 10 tons of goop in the carb and it'll cost more to fix than it's worth. the chainsaw that hasn't been used since the great thunderstorm of 2005 will also not start.
