   @lienrag @mapache You don't need a local currency or a scrip for this to work. Keeping money in your community really does work and anything you can do to increase the velocity of money in your local community pays off huge
   
   You can find studies backing this up usually using the terminology "local multiplier effect"

     Are you ?

     Or are you just delaying a little bit the payment towards corporations ?

     What you advocates works if you have a local currency, which then means the "mom and pop" shops have to also buy from "your community".
     Else the money may meander a little bit locally, but will soon flow to the corporate rivers and seas.

     And local currencies are not that easy to actually implement seriously (maybe not impossible, but experiences faced real difficulties).
