   twitter got it wrong by making 'like' mean 'fave'+'boost'. not because it was good design for users, but because it better served its data mining purposes.
   it may feel weird at first, but it doesn't take long to get used to better things.

     Of course, the mastodon veterans are explaining this again and again (and I am propagating this here), but this is not enough.

     I am not sure using the same symbol for "boost" (here) and "retweet" (elsewhere) helps. We should not use the same symbol with different meanings.

     We know this here as mathematicians.
